I’ve been in love with Science Fiction and Fantasy. And I’ve always loved art. When I was little I used to go to a hobby store called Medieval Starship and watch people play everything from Warhammer to Magic the Gathering. It was a surreal world, everywhere I looked was filled with something that sparked my interest. I would go there every Saturday and compete in Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments and talk to people about all the things I thought were cool. I remember vividly asking my mom to buy me Codex: Tyranids in like 2005. Warhammer was so cool and daunting to me as a child. I don’t ever remember completing a single miniature. I think I would just paint the parts and marvel at the lore.

Sadly Medieval Starship closed and I was getting older. Suddenly, I found myself in middle school and things like Yu-Gi-Oh and Warhammer were not cool anymore. So I forgot about that part of myself as I went through middle school and eventually high school.

Then Covid hit… With new found free time I remembered my passion for art. I started painting again. I taught myself photoshop. I started reading for pleasure again. It was a renaissance for me. Rediscovering my passions.

Fast Forward sometime later and Total War: Warhammer comes out. And I am transported back to my childhood. In early 2022 I made a goal to myself that I’d get back into the hobby I had forgotten for so long. I completed my first set of mini’s! Some Fyreslayers from Warhammer: Age of Sigmar. I watched videos on YouTube I didn’t quit and kept painting. And I got better! So much better in fact, I started taking on commissions and painting anything I could get my hands on.

That’s my story and that brings us to the here and now. Iconnak Media is a brainchild of mine and a attempt to follow my dreams. I wanted to create a painting community and studio centered around bringing high caliber paint jobs to like minded nerds like yourself! And maybe one day take home one of those Slayer Swords as well :)
